7-yr-old kidnapped for 1 cr ransom
A seven-year- old boy was kidnapped by unidentified persons from Old checkpost under L B Nagar police station limits on Saturday evening. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from the parents of the boy.

According to police, Y Vijay Patra alias Bablu, son of Ashish Kumar, who is studying in Second class in Johnson Grammar School, was kidnapped from his residence in Highway Colony near Old checkpost at 7 pm on Saturday, while he was playing. The parents identified the car in which the boy was taken away, as ‘white coloured Fiat’.
Later, the kidnappers who contacted the boy’s father on his mobile, demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore for releasing the boy. However, the kidnappers switched off their mobiles after the parents approached the police. The police registered the case and investigation is on.
