A farmer, Massaih, committed suicide at Chowdapally village under Tallikondpally mandal in Mahabubunagar district on Monday. He was a cotton farmer. He borrowed money from moneylenders to raise cotton crop.

Mahabubnagar: A farmer, Massaih, committed suicide at Chowdapally village under Tallikondpally mandal in Mahabubunagar district on Monday.

He was a cotton farmer. He borrowed money from moneylenders to raise cotton crop.

With the failure of the crop, Massaih went into depression, not knowing how to repay the loans. He went to the fields in the morning on the pretext of spraying pesticide.

There he consumed fatal dose of pesticide. He left behind wife and three children.

Another tenant farmer Jangaiah also committed suicide by hanging in the district as he could not repay the loans he had taken.

Meanwhile, another farmer Satyanarayana ended his life in Medak district, the home district of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He was a tenant farmer.

He borrowed loans from moneylenders and raised paddy and cotton crops in his two acre land. But the crops failed. Depressed over the failure of the crop, he committed suicide by hanging. He left behind two sons and a daughter.
