3 notorious burglars held under PD Act

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police invoked Preventive Detention Act against three notorious habitual offenders on Friday. Cyberabad commissioner C V Anand said Dharur Kanyalal Tagore (22), resident of Moosapet and native of Mannoor in Medak district, was involved in 10 cases of automobile thefts in Cyberabad.

Another accused Konda Shiva Prasad alias Gopal Reddy alias Shivaji Sonu Kambley (40), a resident of Sanathnagar and native Mamidikudur in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, was involved in 28 burglaries in Cyberabad and Hyderabad, the Police Commissioner said.

One more accused Kethavath Naveen Kumar alias Aditya alias Didiya (24), a mechanic from Miyapur, was involved in 22 burglaries in Cyberabad and Hyderabad. “They were arrested earlier and were found repeatedly committing burglaries. They pose a threat to maintenance of public peace. Hence, they have been arrested under Preventive Detention Act,” he said.
