A man named Cherala Pocham murdered his sister-in-law after she resisted his advances of rape in Chintakani village of Kataram mandal in Karimnagar on Saturday.
The accused got drunk on Saturday night and visited his sister-in-law's house. While he made an attempt to rape her, she resisted and tried to raise an alarm resulting in him strangulating her.
Neighbours who found the body of the girl on Sunday morning alerted the police. The accused is said to have fled the place and police are on hunt for him.
