Visakhapatnam: A resident of Hyderabad accused in a robbery case, died when he tried to escape a chasing police team by jumping from the second floor of an apartment in MVP Colony.

The deceased Telu Ramesh had been absconding after committing a robbery. After tracking Ramesh’s mobile calls and call data, the Malakpet Police in Hyderabad had found that he was in Vishakapatnam. After arriving in the city on Wednesday, the Malakpet crime wing SI and his team reached the house in which Ramesh was staying around 8 PM .

Noticing the police, he tried to escape and in the process fell from the second floor. He died immediately after sustaining severe head injuries and fracture in limbs. He was declared brought dead when shifted to a hospital.

The death of accused created panic among the Malakpet police, who immediately informed their superiors. On the advice of senior officials of Telangana Police, the local police have registered a case of suicide.

He is survived by wife, daughter, and a son. The body of Ramesh was shifted to King George Hospital mortuary.
