The sleuths of Nalgonda Central Crime Station on Tuesday arrested a person who was cheating women in the name of Apathbandhu and Deepam schemes at Marriguda crossroads in Nampally and recovered Rs 1.37 lakh from his possession. 

Nalgonda: The sleuths of Nalgonda Central Crime Station on Tuesday arrested a person who was cheating women in the name of ‘Apathbandhu’ and ‘Deepam’ schemes at Marriguda crossroads in Nampally and recovered Rs 1.37 lakh from his possession.

The accused, Repaku Anjaneyulu (27) alias Viplav Kumar, is a resident of Pothunur village of Peddavura mandal in the
district.

Producing him before the media, CCS DSP V Sunitha Mohan said that the accused used to collect money from the women and members of SHGs by misleading them that he would take steps to get the benefits of ‘Apathbandu’ and ‘Deepam’ schemes sanctioned to them.

Sunitha Mohan said that a total of five cases were registered against him within the limits of different police stations in the district. On a tip off, the CCS police arrested him, the DSP added.
