Woman attempts suicide
A woman on Thursday attempted suicide by consuming poison at her residence in Gandhi Nagar in Sangem mandal here following harassment by private financiers. She was rushed to MGM Hospital and her condition is said to be stable. Going into details, B Lakshmi and her husband Madhu were said to have taken loans from private moneylenders for agriculture and other needs.
Sangem/Warangal: A woman on Thursday attempted suicide by consuming poison at her residence in Gandhi Nagar in Sangem mandal here following harassment by private financiers. She was rushed to MGM Hospital and her condition is said to be stable. Going into details, B Lakshmi and her husband Madhu were said to have taken loans from private moneylenders for agriculture and other needs.
The crop failed and also Madhu suffered losses in share market due to which they couldn’t repay the loans. On Thursday, a group of financiers came to their residence and demanded Lakshmi the loan amount and spoke in a harsh language. After they left, upset over the incident, she consumed pesticide. The neighbours who noticed it rushed her MGM Hospital.
In another incident a person called Ram Das, his wife Santoshi and their son Durgam of SRR Thota of Warangal were beaten up severely by a private lender called B Mallesham. It is said that Ram Das stood as a guarantor for a friend called Saraiah who failed to repay the loan he took. After taking the loan, Saraiah was absconding. Following which Mallesham demanded the loan amount from Ram Das.
As Ram Das failed to repay, the financier along with some goons attacked him. Ram Das and his family members were shifted to MGMH for treatment. Mills Colony police booked case in connection with the incident.
