A trader was duped by a stranger to the tune of Rs 71,000 at an ATM on Friday. According to the police, the trader Shiva Prasad brought an ATM card, belonging to his relatives, to withdraw cash and found that the account had a balance of Rs 71,000.
Macherla (Guntur): A trader was duped by a stranger to the tune of Rs 71,000 at an ATM on Friday. According to the police, the trader Shiva Prasad brought an ATM card, belonging to his relatives, to withdraw cash and found that the account had a balance of Rs 71,000.
He sought help of the stranger standing beside him to withdraw cash. The stranger remembered the PIN revealed to him and tactfully replaced the ATM card with another defunct card he had with him. He advised Prasad to contact bank authorities suggesting that there was something wrong with his ATM card. As Prasad left the ATM, the stranger withdrew Rs 71, 000 and disappeared.
