A 65-year-old woman was killed by her family members over suspected sorcery at Jagadevpet of Velgatur mandal late on Sunday night. According to the police, two brothers – Pallepu Mallesh and Pallepu Nagesh – in an inebriated condition slit the throat of the woman with a knife, who was sleeping and she died on the spot. 

Karimnagar: A 65-year-old woman was killed by her family members over suspected sorcery at Jagadevpet of Velgatur mandal late on Sunday night. According to the police, two brothers – Pallepu Mallesh and Pallepu Nagesh – in an inebriated condition slit the throat of the woman with a knife, who was sleeping and she died on the spot.

They pushed away the victim’s husband Rajaiah, who tried to stop them from killing Narsavva. Mallesh and Nagesh are sons of Rajaiah’s younger brother. They alleged that their children were sick since two years as Narsavva was practicing sorcery against them. To protect their children, they killed the old woman, they said.

Immediately after knowing the incident, police rushed to the spot and send the body for postmortem. A case was registered and investigation is on.
