- TPCC Minority department writes a letter to the National Schedule Caste Commission seeking justice to the gang rape victim
TPCC SC Department chairman Arepally Mohan addressed a letter to the National Schedule Caste Commission, New Delhi on Thursday in this regard. In his letter, Mohan described the gang rape as a heinous crime which was brought to the notice of the police and concerned authorities but they had not taken any action in time, even though the same was informed to the police by one of the women victims who escaped from the spot.
Even as the relatives of the victim went to the police station several times and reported the matter and sought action against the culprits, the police failed to apprehend the accused even after 15 days.
The relatives of the victim and other villagers found out the whereabouts of the accused and the same was informed to the police. Had the police reacted in time, the incident could have been averted, he said in the letter.
There was absolutely no security to the SCs in general and particularly women, he alleged. While representatives of all political parties visited the victim, the police had not come to her yet, Mohan bemoaned.
