Bureau of Indian Standards officials conducted a raid at M/s Satyam Beverages, Plot No.21 to 23, Sy. No.1128, Near Power Grid, Ghatkesar, R R District, Telangana a manufacturer of Packaged Drinking Water (PDW) with spurious BIS Standard Mark, i.e. Mark, without having valid Licence. Such Products are used by common consumers. A Large quantity of 20 litre pet jars filled with Packaged Drinking Water and a huge quantity of Packing material with different licence numbers, different manufacturers names and addresses and brand name “TEACHER’s PDW” with spurious Mark were seized during the raid.

Action is being initiated against the offender under the BIS Act, 1986. The offence is punishable by imprisonment up to one year or a fine upto Rs.50,000=00 or both.

The general public is requested to be aware of the offense that the manufacturing units do not have a valid BIS licence shall not use Bureau of Indian Standards Certification Mark and give information about any misuse of ISI Mark which comes to their notice.
