Unscrupulous elements and activities in sparsely populated areas on city outskirts like Rajendra Nagar and Katedan are surprising the police.The Special Officers’ Team sleuths raided a place in Rajendra Nagar and busted the gang engaged in manufacture, packing and export of adulterated chocolates on Tuesday. They picked up a person, Afsar, in connection with the incident who was supplying adulterated ones by recycling expired ones.
The police said that he was involved in the sale of recycled chocolates, which he sold under the titles Lemon Flavour and Lilly. In addition, they informed that he had no permission to carry out the business. Afsar was also engaged in exporting the adulterated chocolates to Andhra Pradesh. Doctors have warned against the risk of contracting diseases like cancer if they consume these adulterated chocolates.
