In a tragic accident, four people lost their lives when a truck ran over them in the Parlachedu village, Settur mandal of Anantapur district. The Settur police revealed that the deceased - all farmers, Sanjeev, Mantesh, Thimmappa and Narasimha Murthy reportedly slept on the tomato fields near the borewell site.Â

But the driver of the borewell rig truck hired by a farmer Kori Gururaj, from Parlachedu village took the vehicle in reverse and ran over the four farmers killing all of them on the spot. The rig truck was hired by Kori Gururaj in order to drill a bore to his fields.
The Settur police have registered a case after they received a complaint and are investigating.
