In a video that has gone viral, two women attendants of a state-run child care centre's cruelty towards small kids has left many in shock. The video shows attendant inflicting burn injuries on the hands of three orphaned children with a hot spoon.

Run by the state government, the orphanage 'Shishu Greh' is located in Karimnagar district of Telangana. A case has been registered against the two attendants Buchamma and Padmaja who burnt hands of the children who later were admitted to a government-run hospital. The two attendants had used the hot spoon to punish the children who were having their meals. Some of the children are said to have sustained burn injuries after being tortured by the attendants.

The footage shows Buchamma heating the spoon on the stove and handing it over to the other caretaker who earlier was seen slapping the children. She then places it on the children’s hands. While the children scream, the caretaker is seen warning them. The incident had taken place on April 15 but the children narrated it to a staff nurse and counselor from the social welfare department on Tuesday. Police officials who have taken the caretakers into custody stated that they denied any wrongdoing but confessed after being confronted with the CCTV footage.
