Man attempts to kill his wife over dark complexion
A man named Prabhu from Ranga Reddy district in Hyderabad attempted to kill his wife this week citing the reason that he was unhappy with her complexion. Prabhu married Laxmi around three years ago but was unhappy over her dark complexion and even told her to kill herself repeatedly.

However, Prabhu and his brother Yellaiah tried to kill her on Tuesday but on Laxmi raising an alarm, the neighbours rushed to her rescue. While both fled from the spot, they were arrested on Thursday.
A case of attempt to murder and harassment was registered against the duo and were produced before court on Thursday. Laxmi, who was a daily labourer married Prabhu, also a labourer but was fed up with his constant torture over her complexion which is why she even approached the women’s police station and lodged multiple complaints against him.
However even after counselling, Prabhu who promised to change, did not mend his ways and asked his wife to commit suicide, threatening to kill her if she did not do so.
