Three sisters committed suicide in Vijayawada on Thursday following their father's death. While two sisters died on the spot, the third is in a critical condition.

Their father, Abdul Rafi, a lorry driver by profession visited his wife Shakira Sultana who was battling a prolonged illness at the hospital in Poranki. However, immediately afterwards the visit, Rafi was found dead near an SBI ATM at Poranki town.

His daughters, Rukiya, Shaheen and Parveen who reside in KPHB Colony of Hyderabad rushed to Vijayawada after coming to know the news. The sisters were inconsolable on seeing his body but later left their uncle's place in the evening. Around midnight, the three of them jumped in front of a moving train at the railway station in Rayanapadu.

While Shaheen and Parveen died on the spot, Rukiya's condition is critical as she suffered grievous injuries.
