Youth rapes minor girl in AP, films act on phone

A 19-year-old raped a minor girl and filmed the entire act, later sharing the video with his friends in East Godavari district. The accused, Tadepalli Varaprasad who is now absconding had threatened the girl with a knife before committing the crime.

The victim had visited his house on May 9 to meet her friend who is the sister of the accused. While there was no one at the house except him, Varaprasad had informed her that his sister was inside and the victim inside a room. Later, he locked the room from inside and threatened her with a knife. He sexually assaulted her and filmed the act on his mobile. The girl fearing Varaprasad's threats of killing her family did not disclose the incident to anyone.

However, Varaprasad shared the video with some of his friends. Last week, locals found the video being played by Varaprasad's friends which led to the victim's parents finding about the whole incident. The girl who was confronted by her parents, revealed the entire ordeal and they lodged a complaint immediately with Ramachandrapuram police. A case has been registered against Varaprasad and efforts are being made to catch hold of him.
