6-year-old boy run over by school van in Hyderabad

A six-year-old boy was killed on Friday when a van of his own school ran him over while he was entering the school premises in Jeedimetla.

The kid, identified as Jashwanth Reddy, a UKG student of Vignan Sudha Talent School was walking inside when the school van entered the campus and hit him, causing a severe head injury. While he was rushed to a nearby hospital by the school staff, the doctors declared that he was brought dead.

Neither the driver nor the worker inside the van noticed the child at the time of the accident.

Jashwanth’s family accused the school of negligence. The Education department officials have initiated an inquiry into the incident and an accidental death case was registered against the driver.
