Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman was beaten to death by her husband on Sunday suspecting her fidelity. The accused followed his wife while she was going to her maternal house after dropping their daughter at a school and killed her.

The accused Syed Akram (35) works in a bakery at Nampally and resides in Banjara Hills. He was married to Shaheen Begum (30) about 10 years ago and was blessed with three children. The police said Akram was addicted to alcohol and used to have disputes and fights with his wife frequently.

On June 19, she left husband’s home and was staying with her parents. At about 8.30 am on Saturday, Shaheen dropped her daughter at a nearby school and was returning to her parent’s house. Akram followed her till Syed Nagar and repeatedly hit her with a rolling pan.

The woman suffered severe bleeding injuries and collapsed on the footpath. Observing this, the locals called the ambulance and informed the police, but she died before any help reach the spot. On seeing locals, Akram fled from the spot, the police said, adding that he was suspecting her fidelity too. A case has been booked and search is on to nab him.
