Hyderabad: Hyderabad Task Force Police busted a fake certificate racket and arrested six persons, including a realtor and two educational consultants on Sunday.Based on a tip-off on Saturday, the task force team of north zone arrested Vennu Dinakar Reddy alias Dinesh Reddy (39),

a realtor from Champapet, A Rama Rao (60), consultant at Gayathri Educational Academy in Dilsukhnagar, Ziaul Hasan (22), educational consultancy owner from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, C Sunil Reddy (29) of Kothapet, D Manoj (30) of Nagole and Raghava (64) of Addagutta, Task Force DCP B Limba Reddy said.

The gang was involved in fake certificates racket and operated from a house at Saidabad. The DCP said during raids, about 400 certificates, stamps, forged transfer certificates pertaining to Andhra University, Bangalore University, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, JNTU (Hyderabad), Osmania University, Bundelkhand University, Ch Charan Singh University, and SCSVMV university, one laptop and six mobile phones were seized from the
accused.

The DCP said that the accused Dinakar, Rama Rao and Ziaul Hasan were kingpins of the racket. They collected information of customers through their agents Sunil Reddy and Manoj and prepared fake education certificates of degree, BTech, diploma courses and affixed stamp for a sign of registrar, and monograms of university concerned.

The accused were preparing fake certificates using Photoshop software and collected between Rs 40,000 and Rs 70,000 per certificate, depending on the course and necessity of the customer, the DCP said. Dinakar and Ziaul were earlier arrested for similar offences.

Ziaul Hasan, a native of Kanpur, has developed contacts in Hyderabad. He takes orders through his agents here and sends certificates from Kanpur to Hyderabad through agents. The accused Ziaul was handed over to Nallakunta police and all the others were handed over to Saidabad police, the DCP added.
