The man identified as Senapathi Raju (37) was taken into custody while he was trying to exchange them with genuine currency notes.  Assistant commissioner of police (East) Annepu Narasimha Murthy said Senapathi Raju, an auto driver, was arrested by Three Town sub-inspector G Dali Babu after he received a tip-off.

Visakhapatnam: The Three Town police seized fake currency notes near Pandurangapuram area in the city and arrested a man for carrying these notes here on Saturday.

The man identified as Senapathi Raju (37) was taken into custody while he was trying to exchange them with genuine currency notes. Assistant commissioner of police (East) Annepu Narasimha Murthy said Senapathi Raju, an auto driver, was arrested by Three Town sub-inspector G Dali Babu after he received a tip-off.

During the interrogation, Raju confessed that he procured the fake currency by paying Rs 2,000 to some visitors who came to the city six months ago.But he could not exchange the fake currency as one could easily identify them. The police started investigation to arrest some more people suspected to be involved in circulating the fake currency.
