Fake baba apprehended under PD Act
Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Tuesday imposed Preventive Detention Act against B Shiva alias Surya (34), a fake baba, who duped several businessmen promising to multiply their wealth through prayers.
​Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Tuesday imposed Preventive Detention Act against B Shiva alias Surya (34), a fake baba, who duped several businessmen promising to multiply their wealth through prayers.
Shiva, an electrician by profession and native of Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh, was involved in seven cases of cheating. Recently, Shiva was arrested by the Banjara Hills police on charges of duping about Rs 1.3 crore of ‘Life Style’ owner Madhusudhan Reddy, claiming that he would multiply his wealth by performing puja at his house.
The commissioner said Shiva’s repeated offenses were creating panic among public. He was involved in several offenses in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. “It is necessary to preventively detain him to develop confidence among public. On Tuesday, he was detained under PD Act and is lodged at Chanchalguda Central Prison,” the Commissioner said.
