“In this operation, we caught two persons K Jagan Naik and A Prabhakar Reddy for selling liquor illegally at Bhavani Nagar. They were booked under sections 34(a) and (f) of AP Excise Act and seized 40 cheap liquor bottles of 180 ml and around 40 beer bottles from them,” said South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana.

He said that an auto driver Kandi Sridhar (37) of Kummarwadi was also taken into custody in connection with a dowry harassment case filed against him. Sridhar was absconding for a long time and a non-bailable warrant was pending against him. A history-sheeter P Raju Yadav was held from Moghulpura. He was being questioned, said the DCP.

Apart from this, 10 active history-sheeters, four property offenders and 95 suspects and other communal offenders were also taken to custody. The police collected fingerprints of the detainees to send them to CCRB (City Crime Records Bureau) to verify their complicity in criminal cases.
