Hyderabad: A widow, R Varalakshmi, on Sunday, lodged a complaint with the police that the dreaded gangster Nayeem’s accomplices had tried to grab her 8-acre land at Chann Kanduku village under Yadagirigutta mandal in Nalgonda district.

According to Varalaxmi, she had eight acres of land at Chinna Kandukuru village. Her husband Balakrishna had purchased the land in 2003 and died in 2009 due to illness. Nayeem gang set their eyes on her land.

Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Varalaxmi said one Anjaiah had approached her along with his friend Bhongir Raju and a lawyer, Krishna, and others had threatened her and obtained her signature on a blank paper. They asked her to transfer her land by taking Rs.50,000.

She also alleged that Bhongir Raju had threatened her uncle also to register the land in their favour. The Medchal police registered a case and taken up investigation.

Meanwhile, the Patancheru police on Sunday arrested four of the accomplices of Nayeem for meddling in a dispute relating to 40 acres of land, the police said. The police acted based on a complaint made by Ravinder Goud.
