Visakhapatnam: The rural police arrested two persons and seized 94 kg of ganja at Dondapudi forest check-post under Makaarapalem police limits on Thursday. The police also seized a van and two mobile phones from them. The third accused, said to be ganja trader from the agency, escaped from the spot.

The police identified the accused as Ella Appanna and Ommi Trinadha Rao, both residents of Anakapalle and Prasad, the ganja trader who hailed from Chintapalle.The police said Appanna and Trinadha Rao, both friends for a long time, decided to trade ganja to make quick money. They contacted Prasad and offered him an advance of Rs 40,000. On Wednesday, they went to Lambasingi and loaded 94 kg of ganja made into 47 packets and put them into car dickey.

While coming to Anakapalle, the car was intercepted at the check-post and seized. They were taken into custody and produced in Chodavaram court and sent to 15 days judicial remand.
