Three students drown in sea
All the students had gone into the sea for a bath. However, finding the tides to be strong, some of the students came back to the shore. But Karumuri Sai Teja (22), Mantena Bhanu Prakash (22) and Revu Rajesh (19) were swept away by the strong currents. The efforts of the local people and swimmers to rescue them went in
​Eluru: Three students were drowned in the Bay of Bengal at Perupalem beach in Mogalturu mandal of West Godavari district on Wednesday. According to the police, around 15 students of DNR College of Bhimavaram went to Perupalem beach to celebrate the birthday of a student Karumuri Sai Teja (22) of Gutlapadu village of Bhimavaram mandal.
All the students had gone into the sea for a bath. However, finding the tides to be strong, some of the students came back to the shore. But Karumuri Sai Teja (22), Mantena Bhanu Prakash (22) and Revu Rajesh (19) were swept away by the strong currents. The efforts of the local people and swimmers to rescue them went in vain. The bodies were recovered in the evening. Sai Teja and Bhanu Prakash were BSc final year students at DNR College whereas Rajesh was a second year Intermediate student at the same college.
