Kurnool: The Alur Prohibition and Excise Department officials arrested 17 persons in connection with manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor during Devaragattu Bunny Festival and bind over cases on seven persons have also been framed.Circle Inspector Madhava Swamy speaking to The Hans India said that the government has passed strict instructions that manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor during Bunny festival would be viewed seriously.

In addition to this18 bottles of Karnataka made liquor (each bottle contains 180 ml) and 1,350 kgs of black jaggery that was kept for manufacturing spurious liquor was also seized from them, he stated. All the 17 persons have been produced before the Alur magistrate, in turn he passed orders for remand, said circle inspector Madhava Swamy.
