Hyderabad: After the arrest of the prime accused within days of murder of rowdy sheeter Omer Amshan in September, the Pahadishareef police arrested five more persons in the case on Wednesday.

According to police, nine persons were held responsible for the murder of Omer Amshan “over a land dispute”, amongst whom six have been arrested so far, while three are still at large.

The accused - Hussain bin Mohsin (23), a student and resident of Moghalpura, Hassan bin Bahamad (55), a businessman and resident of Chandrayangutta, Sayeed bin Abdul Raheem (22), a resident of Chandrayangutta, Hassan bin Mohsin (22), a student and resident of Moghalpura, and Abdullah Bahamad (40), a businessman and resident of Chandrayangutta were arrested by the police on Wednesday, while three others Mohsin bin Siddiq, Azeez Mahroof and Osman bin Bahamad remained at large.

The prime accused Omer bin Hassan Bahamad (23), a student and resident of Chandrayangutta, who was arrested on September 27 was directly involved in the murder. On September 19, the prime accused attacked the victim with an iron rod near Jalpally, while he was proceeding on a scooter.

Later, the accused left the iron rod on the spot and fled on his bullet motorcycle. Investigation revealed that there was a ‘land dispute’ between the families of the deceased and the prime accused.

“Except the deceased, the other persons had shown willingness to ‘compromise’ over the land dispute. Hence, the accused decided to eliminate Omar Amshan,” said VV Chalapathi, Pahadishareef police inspector.
