Miscreants kill rowdy-sheeter in broad daylight, 4 suspects held

Eluru: A rowdy-sheeter was murdered in broad daylight in Chintachettu centre road in Venkatraopeta area in the city on Thursday. According to police, unknown miscreants attacked Kanchi Narendra Murali Krishna (37) alias Pedda Krishna, with knives while he was on his way on a bike along with his friend Durga Malleswara Rao on Thursday morning.
The miscreants came in an auto and dashed Pedda Krishna’s bike. When the latter fell down, the miscreants got down and chopped him indiscriminately. The victim died on the spot with the severe injuries, while pillion-rider Malleswara Rao received simple injuries. After the incident, the miscreants fled away from the scene. After coming to know about the incident, family members and relatives rushed the spot.
On information, two-town CI U Bangarraju along with his personnel reached the spot and conducted an inquiry. Later Pedda Krishna’s body was shifted to Government Hospital for postmortem. Pedda Krishna’s relatives raised slogans against the miscreants and demanded police to take action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, District SP Bhaskar Bhushan, DSP G Venkateswara Rao, CIs Bangarraju, Adapa Naga Murali also reached the hospital. The SP met Pedda Krishna’s family members and enquired them about the incident. It is learnt that the police took four suspects into their custody and shifted them to Dwaraka Tirumala Police Station for interrogation. District SP Bhaskar Bhushan speaking to reporters at the hospital said that police will nab the culprits within 48 hours. He said that some vital evidence has been available on the spot and investigation is on.
