Srikakulam: A cashew dal was unit was engulfed in fire in Palasa on Friday and owner of the unit claims to have suffered a loss of Rs 12 lakh in the accident, while officials yet to confirm it. According to details, fire broke out at Varun cashew dal unit due to electric short circuit opposite of Annapurna cinema hall. On information fire officials rushed to spot and extinguished the fire. However, owner of the unit, Malla Venkat Rao claims to have suffered losses to the tune of Rs 12 lakh in the accident, but police and fire department officials yet to confirm it and suggested that least quantity of dal might be stored in the unit at the time of accident. “We will investigate into it” officials said.
