Woman, daughter murdered
The family had a dispute over a land with their close relative which was suspected to the motive for the murder. Police suspect Hanumanthu, who is the younger brother of the husband of Nagamini, behind the murders. Sandeep, the two year-old son of Sai Lakshmi, also sustained head injury in the incident.
Guntur:A woman and her daughter were murdered with a pestle at Naralasettivaripalem area in Bapatla town in the district on Wednesday. The incident came to light on Friday. According to Circle Inspector P V Anjaneyulu, the deceased G Nagamani (42) and her daughter Kotte Sai Lakshmi (22) were hit with a pestle and murdered.
The family had a dispute over a land with their close relative which was suspected to the motive for the murder. Police suspect Hanumanthu, who is the younger brother of the husband of Nagamini, behind the murders. Sandeep, the two year-old son of Sai Lakshmi, also sustained head injury in the incident.
It is learnt that Hanumanthudu was demanding his sister-in-law handover the property belonging to his brother to him. But, Nagamani was rejected his proposal. The police officials are suspecting that property dispute led to murder. DSP Mahesh, CI P V Anjaneyulu visited the scene of offence and enquired about the incident. They pressed clues team to find identity of the accused. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
