16 held for attack on printing press
In a matter which is pending before a judicial court, a group of 50 persons claiming to be close to a people’s representative in East Godavari district behaved in a high-handed manner with the inmates of the property, which housed a printing press, on Machiraju Street here to get them forcibly vacated.

The trouble-makers caused damage to the house and ransacked the printing press. On a complaint by the victim, Guda Sitaramanjaneyulu, the police took into custody 16 miscreants, including Thota Tejomurthy of Vetlapalem, in connection with the incident.
The police seized two Innova cars and lethal weapons from them. Cases were registered against them for attempt to murder and criminal assault.
Condemning the assault, trade bodies in the town on Friday called for observing bandh in the town.
