Nalgonda: The Devarakonda police have seized 36 bikes and eight auto-rickshaws besides three cartons of liquor during a cordon and search operation in Santhoshi Matha Colony in Devarakonda town in the early hours of Sunday.
Under the supervision of Devarakonda Divisional Superintendent of Police Chandra Mohan, four Circle Inspectors, eight Sub-Inspectors and 30 police personnel carried out the cordon and search operation in Santhoshi Matha Colony, which falls under the limits of Devarakonda Town police station. Police had taken up the search operation based on the inputs of intelligence wing that the illegal activities were being carried out in the area.    Â
During the search operation, police checked houses and also verified the identity of the persons working and staying in them. Police seized 36 bikes and eight auto-rickshaws when the owners failed to produce the valid vehicle registration papers.
