Auto driver booked for molesting minor girl

​Hyderabad: Lalaguda police registered a case against an auto-rickshawdriver for sexually abusing a minor girl while taking her home from the school every day. Police said the accused Rajesh, 37, was hired by some parents in Railway Quarters, Lalaguda to ferry their children from a school in Secunderabad.

He used to pick the kids in the morning and then drop them back home in the evening. During the course, he used to stop the auto-rickshaw near Railway Ground and sweet talk other children into playing while he took the victim to an abandoned railway quarter for assaulting her sexually, police said quoting the complaint.

According to the complaint, the accused assaulted the minor girl at least over a dozen times keeping her under death threat.

However, the girl developed health issues following which her mother spoke to the girl in detail only to find the shocking truth. Consequently, she lodged a complaint with the police.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and investigations are underway to nab the accused, police said.
