Hyderabad Police book film-maker Karim Morani for rape
The Rachakonda police have registered a case of rape against Bollywood film producer Karim Morani for allegedly raping a Delhi- based woman on promise of marriage.
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have registered a case of rape against Bollywood film producer Karim Morani for allegedly raping a Delhi- based woman on promise of marriage.
The woman, aged around 25 years, stated in her complaint lodged with the Hayathnagar police under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate that Morani had sexually abused her in Mumbai and at a film studio here.
A senior police officer said that the woman accused Morani of sexually abusing her on different occasions in 2015.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code - Sections 417 for cheating, 376 for rape, 342 for wrongful confinement, 506 for criminal intimidation, 493 for cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage and other relevant provisions of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013, the officer said.
