​Hyderabad: The air intelligence unit of the Customs Department on Thursday seized 467 grams of gold from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.

The passenger had concealed the gold, worth Rs 13.64 lakh, in the form of foils that were placed between the layers of a corrugated box, officials said.

The passenger arrived from Muscat by Oman Airlines flight No. WY 235, officials said.

Investigations are underway to determine whether the passenger was part of any organised gang engaged in gold smuggling.
