Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Rachakonda police on Saturday arrested a doctor selling marijuana mixed chocolates.

According to police, the accused, Mohammed Sujath Ali Khan, a resident of Bahadurpura, had completed his MBBS from Deccan Medical College in 2006 and then worked in NIMS before becoming fitness consultant.

Since his earnings were insufficient, Khan began looking for ways to make easy money. He got into the idea of making weed edibles. He procured marijuana from peddlers and prepared weed edibles by mixing the marijuana powder with chocolate, cocoa powder, essence, ghee and oil, police said.

Khan opened a page on Instagram in the name of weedibles.hyderabad and began marketing his product. Scores of customers from different parts of the country began calling him for the chocolates and he sent them by courier.

He used to charge anything between Rs 500 and Rs 1800 for each chocolate depending on the dosage of marijuana and its effect on the consumer, police said.

Acting on tip off, Rachakonda police arrested the accused at Shaheen Nagar. Many chocolates mixed with marijuana, some cash, a two wheeler, a laptop and the raw material used in the preparation of the chocolates mixed with marijuana were seized at the behest of the accused
