Medak: A farmer, while trying to install transformer at his field, suffered electric shock on Wednesday and his hand got separated up to elbow.

The irate villagers attacked Medak rural sub-station and vandalised it, resulting in disruption of power supply to Medak town throughout the day.

Chowdary Narayan Reddy, a farmer from Lingsanpally village under Haveli Ghanpur manda,l had taken a transformer to TRANSCO sub-station on Tuesday for repair.

The technical team, after repairing the transformer, handed it over to Reddy. He thought he could install it in his village all by himself as linemen were not available.

He had informed the sub-station staff not to switch on the power while the transformer was being installed, but the operators switched it on.

He received a severe electric shock and fell to the ground. His hand up elbow got cut off.

The villagers, in rage, vandalised the sub-station
