Vijayawada: Central Crime Station (CCS) police personnel arrested two inter-district criminals and one juvenile on Thursday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 20 lakh from their possession.

Addressing the media persons at I Town police station on Thursday, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for crime G Rama Koteswara Rao said that CCS police arrested inter-State criminals K Veera Nagaraju, K Venkatesh, receivers N Durga Prasad (24), P Achyutha Rao (56) and J. Pide Raju (50), and a juvenile here on Thursday.

Police recovered Rs 20 lakh worth of gold and silver ornaments from them and 252 grams gold ornaments, 1,340 gram silver and Rs 15,900 cash from the juvenile. Rama Koteswara Rao said that both the inter-district criminals had committed 18 crimes in different houses in Vijayawada city and in all, committed a total of 23 thefts in other districts.

He said that the juvenile was involved in 11 thefts in different houses in Vijayawada city and the CCS police arrested the inter-district criminals in the limits of Chitti Nagar police station and the juvenile at the Vijayawada railway station.
