Hanamkonda: A laundry shop on the main road near the first gate of Kakatiya University was burnt to ashes in the late hours on Thursday.
The laundry shop caught fire at around 11.30 pm on Thursday and the entire shop gutted down within no time.
Nearby shop owners and university hostel students immediately informed fire fighters, who brought the fire under control, preventing the fire to spread to nearby shops.
Shop owner G Lingamurthy, resident of Muchharla, was shocked to know the incident and lamented that he had incurred a loss of Rs 80,000.
He registered a complaint in the police station. The cause of the fire is not known.
