Hyderabad: Rajendranagar police on Friday arrested a cab driver for allegedly sexually assaulting his two minor daughters.

According to police, the accused K Srinivas, a resident of Jyothinagar was arrested following a complaint lodged by his wife.

The woman in her complaint told police that Srinivas married her in 1998 concealing the fact that he was already married.

Out of wedlock, the couple had two girls. Later, the woman came to know about Srinivas’s first marriage which led to domestic feuds and the woman ultimately began living separately along with her two daughters, police said.

In 2013, the two girls went to East Godavari district, the native place of Srinivas and studied there for one year only to return to their mother next year complaining that they were being beaten and harassed by their father, police said.

Despite all this, Srinivas used to visit the woman and the girls and stay at their house for a couple of days.

The woman alleged that Srinivas used to sexually assault the girls during his visits and threatened the girls with dire consequences if they revealed it to anyone, police said.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case on February 14 and arrested him on Friday.
