Elderly couple commits suicide
An elderly couple committed suicide by consuming poison on Sunday night when no one was there at home in Mancherial. The deceased were identified as Dharmaraju (80) and his wife Pochamma (70). They have three sons and three daughters, all were married except one daughter, Lakshmi and one son, R Lingam. The couple are living with their unmarried children.

Mancherial Assistant Commissioner of Police Chennaiah Chilukuri said Dharmaraju has land worth Rs 15 lakh, which he decided to give to his unmarried son and daughter, who are living with them. His other sons and daughters were fighting with their parents for the land.
According to police, the couple were under depression over the fight among their children over land. The couple took the extreme step on Sunday night when Lakshmi went for a wedding and Lingam was out for labour work.
The ACP said that one of their sons, Ramesh staying in Mumbai, alleged that Lakshmi killed their parents for the land. A case under Section 174 of CrPC was booked and investigation is on. The bodies were sent for
post-mortem.
