4 robbers arrested, stolen property recovered
City police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four alleged robbers and recovered some of the stolen property from their possession. The arrested are J Santosh Yadav, A Nagaraju, A Shiva, all three are residents of Secunderabad and Mohammed Mateen, a native of Khammam. Police recovered stolen silver ornaments and a mobile phone from their possession.
​Hyderabad: City police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four alleged robbers and recovered some of the stolen property from their possession. The arrested are J Santosh Yadav, A Nagaraju, A Shiva, all three are residents of Secunderabad and Mohammed Mateen, a native of Khammam. Police recovered stolen silver ornaments and a mobile phone from their possession.
Gopalapuram police said Santosh, Nagaraju and Shiva formed into a gang and robbed people in an inebriated state in and around Secunderabad. The gang used to steal whatever valuables and petty cash found with drunken people.
Another alleged robber, Mateen, who was earning a living by driving a hired auto-rickshaw, used to divert the attention of the passengers in his vehicle and steal their handbags or other valuable, the police said. Mateen, the police said, is facing charges in over nine cases of burglary in Khammam.
After he was released from the prison nine months ago, he had shifted his operations to Hyderabad. All the four accused were remanded in judicial custody.
