Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Monday arrested a five-member gang involved in preparing fake registration certificates of two wheelers and selling vehicles to gullible people.

The arrested were identified as L Sai Kiran, A Bhagwandas, both running separate shops that sell used two wheelers, P Mahesh, a bike mechanic, Imran Khan and Mohammed Afroz Khan, who prepared the fake documents.

Police seized as many as 47 duplicate registration certificates, one embossing machine, some cash and other incriminating material from the accused.

According to the police, Sai Kiran and Bhagwandas purchase used two wheelers in the auction conducted by vehicle finance companies.

Since the finance companies seize them from the borrowers, for not making repayment of loan, they do not provide the documents.
