Car mows down cop on wedding anniversary
In a case of hit and run, a speeding car mowed down a morning walker near Langer Houz area killing him on the spot, on Monday. The victim was identified as 56-year-old Sub-Inspector (SI) Krishnaiah, who was attached to the special branch.
​Hyderabad: In a case of hit and run, a speeding car mowed down a morning walker near Langer Houz area killing him on the spot, on Monday. The victim was identified as 56-year-old Sub-Inspector (SI) Krishnaiah, who was attached to the special branch.
According to the police, Krishnaiah was on his usual morning walk when the speeding car lost control and hit the footpath near Tippu Khan Bridge and then rammed into the police official killing him on the spot.
Other morning walkers ran helter-skelter to escape from the killer car. In the melee, the driver of the car escaped the scene. Krishnaiah joined the department as police constable in 1982 and was promoted to the rank of SI. He is survived by wife and two kids. Sadly, Monday was his wedding anniversary.
Langer Houz police registered a case and began investigations. The investigators are examining the CCTV footage in the vicinity to identify the car and the driver.
