Degree student of Godavarikhani commits suicide
A 18-year-old degree student of Godavarikhani committed suicide allegedly over harassment by a lecturer on Wednesday. Soumya of Uday Nagar of the town, daughter of Tanguturi Ramesh and Kala, was studying B Com first year at Gouthami Sai Degree College here.
Godavarikhani: A 18-year-old degree student of Godavarikhani committed suicide allegedly over harassment by a lecturer on Wednesday. Soumya of Uday Nagar of the town, daughter of Tanguturi Ramesh and Kala, was studying B Com first year at Gouthami Sai Degree College here.
She consumed poison on May 2nd night when she was alone in the house. Family members observed and rushed her to a local hospital and from there to Karimnagar hospital.
As she appeared to be recovered, family members brought her home on May 4 but on the same day night she had blood vomiting.
She was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad. But she died on Monday night. Body will be brought home after autopsy at Gandhi Hospital.
Meanwhile, Soumya’s father Ramesh complained to the police on Tuesday that his daughter committed suicide due to the harassment by college lecturer.
He sought action to be taken against the lecturer and college management. The police registered a case and investigation is on.
