Father rapes 20-yr-old daughter

Eluru: In a ghastly incident, a father sexually assaulted his 20-year-old daughter at his house repeatedly at Anumojupalem village in Iragavaram mandal in West Godavari district.The incident came to light when the victim and her maternal grandmother approached Additional SP in Eluru late night of Tuesday. Following the orders from Additional SP V Ratna, the Iragavaram Police registered a case against the father. According to police, 42-year-old Undurti Rafayelu, a divorcee handed over his daughter to his mother-in-law after the split with his wife and left for Dubai.

After returning to his native place in 2015, he married another woman. Later, the accused approached the victim’s grandmother who was residing at Pathuru in Tanuku mandal to bring his daughter back. The victim was repeatedly raped by her father at his house in Anumojupalem, the police added.

Unable to bear the torture, the victim returned to her grandmother’s house in Pathuru and refused to go back to her father. She disclosed plight to her grandmother. The victim, along with her grandmother approached Iragavaram Police and complained the matter 10 days ago. However, they did not register a case in this regard. The victim later approached SP V Ratna and reported the incident. Additional SP immediately directed Irgavaram police to a register case and to arrest the culprit. The police on Wednesday registered a case and begansearch for the accused.
