Hyderabad: Top police officials have ordered an inquiry against 16 more policepersons for their links with the slain gangsters Nayeem. This is a sequel to suspension of five police officers on Thursday. The suspended policemen are CID Additional Superintendent of Police Maddipati Srinivasa Rao, Assistant Commissioners of Police Chintamaneni Srinivas and M Srinivasa Rao of Mir Chowk division, Inspectors Masthan Vali of Sangareddy and Raja Gopal of Kothagudem.
Apart from it, oral inquiry has been ordered against three Deputy Superintendents of Police – M Sai Manohar, G Prakash Rao and Venkat Narsaiah and an inspector Venkaiah. A senior officer will conduct the oral According to sources, charge memos will also be issued to 16 more police officers for their alleged links with Nayeem.The officers will be asked to submit their replies to the charge memos based on which minor punishments like deferring increments or promotions will be awarded to them, according to a senior police.
