76-yr-old eve teaser nabbed
The She Teams (anti-eve-teasing squad) of Rachakonda Commissionerate on Saturday booked a 76-year- old man for allegedly harassing a 24-year-old woman.
​Hyderabad: The She Teams (anti-eve-teasing squad) of Rachakonda Commissionerate on Saturday booked a 76-year- old man for allegedly harassing a 24-year-old woman.
According to police, on May 18, the woman, an MBA graduate and her grandfather went to a temple where the latter fell ill. The accused, Vinod Dewan, offered help and dropped the duo at their home in his car.
Dewan took the girls phone number and started communicating with her. Later, he asked her to come for a 'long drive' with him for which she refused. The woman tried to ignore; but, the elderly man continued to call the woman on her mobile, which prompted the victim to lodge a police complaint.
The incident came to light when the victim approached the police through its WhatsApp control room number 9490617111.
The Kushaiguda She Team, headed by Mallesh Yadav, ASI immediately took up the case and identified the accused as a resident of Sainikpuri, Kushaiguda and apprehended him. A petty case was booked against him in the police station and he was produced in the court.
