5 lakh worth illegal bio-products seized in Mahabubabad

​Mahabubabad: The district police have seized Rs 5 lakh worth bio-products being sold illegally and booked cases against three persons on Monday.

Following the directions issued by the Superintendent of Police N Koti Reddy, a team comprising the District Crime Record Bureau Inspector Santhosh, Special Branch Inspector Srinivas Raju and Task Force Sub-Inspector Rana Pratap was formed to check the sale of illegal bio-products.

Following a four-day meticulous operation, the team has seized the products being sold by Venkatasri Agro Agency located at Kuravi bridge area in the town. The bio-products seized at the shop were said to be lacking bills and invoice.

An employee, called as Ravi Kumar was taken into custody and booked under IPC section 420. Similarly cases were booked against two others Madela Venkateshwarlu of Mahabubabad and Rayapati Ramchander Reddy of Guntur for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of bio-products.

“Those involved in the sale of illegal agriculture products would not be spared. If required they would be booked under PD Act,” cautioned the SP Koti Reddy. The seized products were sent to lab for testing, he added.
